As part of my 30 day challenge I’ve been working on my photography and editing skills. Still very basic but I think I’ve made huge progress. Here is one of my first attempts:And here are some I took today. Hopefully you’ll agree that there is a huge improvement!
I used PicMonkey which has lots of features which are free and is quite straightforward to use after a little play around.
These items are all now available to purchase from my etsy shop: Under the Rowan Trees
Attempting to photograph a new product today but struggling! They are lovely and the suede effect cord is so tactile but difficult to capture.
They are now available from http://www.undertherowantrees.ETSY.com
Ok so I’m setting myself a challenge. Lots of lovely people are visiting and liking my etsy shop and other social media pages but sales are slooooow so I’ve decided to take on the 3o step challenge! Hopefully you will be seeing a lot more from me and your walls will soon be adorned with my hoops and noticeboards and you will have rings on your fingers and bells on your toes!
My first challenge is to set myself a goal. That’s easy … or so I thought. Making it specific and achievable was much more difficult.
Step one – Goals
Sell five items from my etsy shop by the end of August.
Host a giveaway on instagram to celebrate 500 followers.
Learn how to use twitter to promote my etsy shop and increase traffic by 10% from that route.
Wish me luck!
This week Under the Rowan Trees has launched a new range of exclusive wooden jewellery in our etsy shop. Items have been designed and laser cut by the fantastic Chris from Laser Cut Supplies
The earrings use surgical steel earposts and rubber backs so they are hypoallergenic and so suitable for those of you with sensitive ears.

I’ve been super busy making hoops this week as next Saturday is the grand opening of Ooops! and my work will be on the wall with some other amazing artists.
I’m really excited and can’t wait to see the finished shop once it is ready to open. Photos will follow. I promise!
I’ve had the sewing machine out this evening! This is a sneak peek of our new Sorbus scarf. It can be worn in many different ways. Here it is as a cowl, scarf and shrug. I love it. I hope you do. What do you think?
